The Coalition for a Tobacco Free Vermont works closely with our member organizations, community leaders, and legislators to promote and implement programs and policies that reduce tobacco use in Vermont. The Coalition has been integral in the passage of smoke free laws, tobacco taxes, and other policies that lessen the impact of tobacco in Vermont.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office on Smoking and Health and the Center for Tobacco Policy Research at Washington University in St. Louis developed a series of user guides for the State and Community Interventions Category for the 2007 Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs (Best Practices). A number of tobacco control focus areas including policy (e.g., coalitions, policy advocacy, economic pricing); youth (e.g., engagement and access); and disparities are addressed in the user guide series.
