Cessation Resources

Are you a Vermonter who wants to quit smoking or other tobacco products?

The Vermont Tobacco Control Program, through the Vermont Department of Health, provides free services for Vermonters who want to quit smoking or other tobacco products on their website, healthvermont.gov. Browse the website at The VT Quit Network to see available resources, get quit tips, advice, and testimonials, or to access support forums.

If you prefer a quit coach, call 1-800-QUIT-NOW, and talk to a coach about resources for free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) shipped directly to your home.

The Vermont Medicaid program covers NRT and cessation medications. Co-payments are required and some limitations apply. For more information, please call the Green Mountain Care Office at: 800-250-8427.

Vermont State employee benefits cover cessation medications as well as NRT. Co-payments are required. For more information, please call the Vermont Department of Human Resources Employee Service Center at: 802-828-0709.
